Flying with the case full is a rules question, not a capacity one. Nail polish in a carry-on falls under the 3.4 ounce (100 ml) limit like any other liquid; in checked baggage the aggregate is capped at 2 kg or 2 L per person with 0.5 kg or 500 ml in any one container, and the officer at the checkpoint has the last word either way.
